Y'all are there for more than just fires, and you bring a sense of security and community to our little Shepherds area. I, as a senior citizen, cannot thank these young men, not only for their dedication at protecting all of us citizens in Mooresville, but for stepping up to the plate and assisting us older folks - they have come into my home, very professional yet all have a big smile on their faces, and changed all my smoke-detector batteries for me. I brought my nephew for a tour today and I just want to thank you to the Shepherds Fire Department and specifically to Captain Kovacs for a wonderful time. My nephew was literally speechless (which never happens) and in awe of the station, trucks and of Captain Kovacs. It was a great learning experience for all of us and we very much enjoyed it. Thank you Carey! And thank you to all the fire fighters and rescue personnel for risking your lives and dedicating your time and energy to keep us all safe. God bless!

I wanted to thank the day staff at station 1 for allowing me the use of the training room this morning (Tuesday, June 16th, 2015). The local chapter office of the American Red Cross was to host a CPR/AED class but the building's AC unit had failed. Knowing that some fire stations have community rooms, having been a firefighter/EMT for 22 years, I called the local houses to ask about availability.
Today 6 more people are ready and able to serve the community!
